Canada C3
(for The Globe and Mail)

On an overcast and windy afternoon in early June, I was picked up by a member of the C3 expedition on a Zodiac in Kingston, Ontario and taken to the Polar Prince, an icebreaker anchored in the St Lawrence River nearby. The C3’s ongoing mission is to spark conversations about Confederation's legacy and Indigenous reconciliation and began with a 150-day trip around Canada. The 23,000-kilometre journey, from Toronto to Victoria via the Northwest Passage, coast to coast to coast, was divided into 15 legs ranging from 7 to 12 days, each leg bringing a new group of participants on board to share their stories and experiences. These images were captured during my afternoon onboard.
